What It is Like To outlive Rotator Cuff Surgery – My Story
Diseases, Disorders return false;” />See outcomes Week 9 Celebration!!
Two weeks ago having accomplished submit op week 7, I used to be very disappointed to types of braids for hair be taught I had to endure “The Sling And that i” for a minimal of two more weeks. The Sling and i have been contemplating filing for divorce at that time! I just hit the tolerance wall one day for no obvious motive and it was all I may do not to simply “sling it.”
Properly, right this moment was my postop week 9 checkup with the surgeon. He was very happy with how all the pieces is looking. He informed me I could really begin shifting my arm in any course (woo hoo!!) and added extra workouts for the PT of us. This was trigger for an enormous celebration! I settled, nevertheless, for driving home without the sling on and pumping my own gasoline for the first time in over two months! I also chopped up a bunch of veggies to make some homemade vegetable soup. All in all it was pretty exciting!
The one restriction on me now could be that I am not allowed to raise anything. I can live with that for awhile!
He additionally gave me the excellent news that in three more weeks I shall be allowed to start out strengthening workouts! It is going to be nice to be allowed to do something more proactive than simply resting my shoulder!
Bodily Therapy With The new Exercises
Had my first PT with those yesterday – delayed because I spent a number of days within the hospital due to a cellulitis infection in my leg. All the workout routines felt nice, prompted no pain, only a sort of bizarre feeling as a result of the muscles had not been moved in so lengthy.
In two more weeks we get to begin types of braids for hair strengthening workout routines – I’m very excited about that! Give me some work and let me get this arm again!

Hi Sheila..I do know you might be effectively previous your procedure now and it seems like all the things turned out great. I just wished to praise you in your nice angle and say thanks for sharing. I fell like a klutz three weeks in the past and had surgical procedure 1 week in the past for a partial shoulder replacement and cuff tear. I am miserable and I have never stopped tearing up and the best way issues are going I will probably be an enormous baby the complete 8+ weeks! I’m in a Don Joy immobilizer brace with an enormous foam block between my arm and my body. I’ve never been in a straight jacket (actually, I haven’t!) but I guess it feels very similar to this. It’s constructed with 98% Velcro which tends to poke by means of in the most painful (and private) locations. I HATE Velcro now! Even probably the most comfy place to sit/sleep I’ve discovered (recliner) leaves much to be desired in any place. I am also plugged in to a cooler system that circulates ice water. The “cape” with the cooling chambers needs to be placed on with assist and elastic bandage-sort fasteners. I hate elastic bandages now too! 🙂 each time I recline the whole lot rides up in an try to strangle me.. Though I’ve never been in a prison cell (actually I have not ) I am pretty sure I can be extra comfortable in a 6 x 6 jail cell. I am no stranger to ache. I’ve survived cancer, have lived with fibromyalgia for 15+ years, and have disc degeneration in the lumbar and cervical spine, and arthritis, most pronounced in my hips. I believed I knew what ache was.. But now I know the pain scale actually goes much increased than 10. And of course now all the docs (even my surgeon) gets squeamish if you request ache drugs refills. Thanks DEA! And street drug users! Now it seems I am growing lymphedema as I had node biopsies within the troubled arm. It seems I have such an extended street forward I really feel depleted and whooped. Don’t know what, aside from prayers, and junk meals, goes to get me through this. Thanks for listening.. I haven’t shed one tear whereas scripting this put up. WOOT!

Studying your descriptive put up is making me really feel a bit better. I’m having rotator cuff repair surgical procedure in 2 days for two full width, full length tears on my dominant arm. Very nervous about getting by every day actions without my dominant arm. I too have lengthy hair and it’s curly to boot. I’m going to look like the Lion King! Also, going to the bathroom is about to be very awkward! Thanks for posting your journey. I admire what you shared. Good luck to you!

I havent experienced this, but understand your suffering. I presently have a golfer’s elbow, nothing in comparison with what you might be undergoing although, however that prevents me from doing many issues, primarily not having the ability to play golf, one thing which I like immensely.
