In June 23, 1936 Cesare Mangiapani patent a method of creating toy animal figures from tuft yarn balls with the help of Jack E. Levy who was a associate within the Character Novelty Company. I might use a very good upholstery cleaner, the type that is available in a aerosol spray can, apply it gently, and rub in softly, let dry and repeat if needed. Do not over saturate would possibly harm the music box contained in the little kitty. You would use a hand held blow dryer on a low setting to help re-fluff up her hair. She is beautiful ..

Hello Angelia, on occasion a old Character Novelty Company Catalog is bought on eBay, and I’ve seen some Character Novelty Firm “Mr. Bingle’s” go for good quantities on eBay as properly. I may have so as to add some Character Novelty “Mr. Bingle” pictures to my collection, because presently I have none. Captain Kangaroo’s Bunny Rabbit was a special ordered Character Novelty manufacturing with no tags, it was made for his present. So I’d think about that some of the primary Mr. Bingle’s might have been Character Novelty Firm prototypes for commercials, and television shows, they usually wouldn’t have Character tags on them, and could be very uncommon, and collectable.
Are there any pictures or catalogs that you know of from that period
We try to place the earliest made Mr. Bingle (late 1940’s) and we actually can’t discover much on this space. Any photos could be enormously appreciated. We own one of many oldest ones made. There isn’t any tag to tell of a date. I’ve seen some that we imagine are dated to 1950’s-1960’s and it has a tag with Characters, Inc Conn. that’s how I discovered this web site.
Have an excellent day!
Hello Angelia, I consider Mr. Bingle the Snow Man was made from the very late 1940s to the mid 1960s by the Character Novelty Company from the original designs of Emile Alline .. A couple of might need been made later as properly .. Should you lived in New Orleans from the 1950s by means of the 1980s, you’d know who the elf-like, snowman determine beside Santa Claus was. 🙂 Created in 1947 by display director Emile Alline, Mr. Bingle was figured prominently in the big and elaborate yearly Christmas window display. Character Novelty Company had both a puppet version, and a plush sleeping, and play pal, of the liked Mr. Bingle the Snow Man ..
